Sunderland 1 Arsenal 2: match report
thierry Henry came off the bench to score yet another winner for Arsenal as the Frenchman wrote a fairy tale end to his final Premier League game for the club. The Gunners had already fought back from a goal down after Per Mertesacker had inadvertently gifted James McClean goal thanks to Aaron Ramsey’s strike, but Henry grabbed all three in the third minute of injury time in a game that only burst into life in the final 20 minutes. An early mistake by John O’Shea allowed Alex Song’s pass to find the feet of Robin van Persie, but for once his finish was poor, shooting too close to goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. A pass from the Arsenal skipper played in Theo Walcott midway through the first half, but the angle was tight and the England international dragged his shot wide.
