Arsenal off target against Bolton as top four drifts further from sight | Metro.co.uk
It was a familiar tale of dominating possession for scant reward for the Gunners, with theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both guilty of glaring misses. David Wheater nodded a Robin van Persie header off the line early on, before the Dutchman cut back for Oxlade-Chamberlain in the area only for the 18-year-old to blaze over. David Ngog rolled a shot past Wojciech Szczesny’s far post when put through by Wheater, while, at the other end, Walcott was kept out by Adam Bogdan when through on goal. The post came to Wanderers’ rescue on the restart when Van Persie connected with a low cross from Bacary Sagna – making a first start following four months out with a broken leg.
